Gerin del Carmen is a Los Angeles–based ceramic artist who makes handbuilt vessels that function as sites for repetition, variation, and texture. Her surfaces register shifts in tone and detail, drawing from early traditions and archaeological forms, as well as natural materials such as metal, wood, and moss. Shaped by these influences, del Carmen develops an approach to design in which time is held and made visible through accumulation.
